Riding History:
Started riding in 1954, passed test in 1959 (4 years in the RAF didn't help
. . . ).
Took up trials riding in the winter of 1959, got too
wet and muddy so went road racing instead! (It's supposed to be warm
and dry in the summer). Rode for 11 years with 2 years works ride with
Garelli (an Itallian manufacturer), also raced vintage motorcycles.
During this time I became, in 1963, an RAC/ACU
instructor and have trained motorcyclists ever since, and became a
Proficiency Test examiner in 1974.
Other Claims To Fame:
Runner-up 'Motorcyclist of the Year Competition, 1964.
Shell Mex & BP Road Safety Award winner.
3 First-Class Awards, Veteran London to Brighton!
Road examiner two years running for London Despatch Rider of the Year (I
must have needed my head examined . . . )
Can instruct motorcycle & sidecar driving/riding!
MSF Experienced RiderCourse 1992.
Have ridden through most West European countries. Current
